
Hello and welcome to my colorful world of healthy eating!
My name is Lanina and I’m a health enthusiast, food artist, recipe developer, food photographer, content creator, and more! I started Colorful Superfoodie a few years ago on Instagram as a way to share my day-to-day healthy eating journey, and things have flourished from there!
My mission is to inspire others that eating nutrient dense, health supporting foods can be very fun and delicious! I believe that you can enjoy a healthy lifestyle and the foods you love without all the overly processed and inflammatory ingredients.

My Story
The main reason I started getting into healthy cooking and creating my own recipes is my journey with Celiac Disease(an autoimmune disease that attacks the lining of the gut.) I was diagnosed at the age of 12 and have struggled with many health issues over the years because of it. My gut health was very compromised, and I developed digestive issues, candida overgrowth, hormone imbalances, and many food sensitivities. It was through working with a functional medicine practitioner, finding the right supplements, and changes in diet and lifestyle that made a huge impact on my healing journey. Over the years I’ve learned so much about how real whole foods can support the body and well being.

I have come such a long way on my health journey, and now experience better energy, mental clarity, and a more elevated mood! Even though I had struggled with health issues for so many years, I am very thankful that I could learn so much about health and nutrition because of those struggles. I believe there is always something good we can take from a bad situation and learn from it. I’ve learned that my disease and health issues do not define me, and that there is hope in getting well again. I am living my life with a passion for helping and encouraging others with their healthy eating journey.

On my blog you will find a variety of nutrient dense sweet and savory recipes that are easy to make and a delight to your taste buds! I use ingredients that are more autoimmune friendly, support gut and brain health, and nourish the body. I also love incorporating lots of color in my recipes using real food ingredients and superfoods because I think food is way more fun to eat in color! They do say you eat with your eyes first after all.
I know it can be hard to know where to start when it comes to eating a healthy balanced diet or figuring out recipes you can make when you have dietary restrictions due to health issues(trust me I’ve been there.) I am here to help make the process of finding recipes that you can enjoy much easier! My blog caters to a variety of dietary preferences with easy substitutions so there is something for everyone to enjoy!
I focus on creating recipes that are free of dairy, grains, gluten, artificial colors/ flavorings, refined vegetable oils, and refined sugar. Due to my autoimmune disease I find that eating mostly a Paleo diet is what makes my body feel best. I don’t believe there is a one way fits all approach to eating because we are all bio-individual. I am not a fan of diets or the diet culture, and I believe in finding a sustainable way of eating that is right for you! I never count calories or worry that I’m eating too much. Instead I focus on the nutrition and quality of the foods I eat and how they make me feel. You gotta listen to your body and nourish to flourish I always say!
