Cherry Lime Watermelon Slushy

Cherries and watermelon are a couple of my favorite summer fruits and they are packed with antioxidants, anti-inflammatory properties, support heart health, support healthy glowing skin, and so much more! When you have a lot of watermelon and cherries on your hands, this is such a fun way to enjoy them! I definitely recommend staying hydrated with this refreshing, no added sugar, cherry watermelon lime slushy.

Is this slushy recipe healthy?

Most traditional slushies or Icees are loaded with refined sugar and artificial flavors/colors. I used to really enjoy them as a kid of course, but now I know the affects of having a ridiculous amount of sugar like that in one serving that can contribute to sugar crashed and blood sugar issues.

This cherry lime watermelon slushy recipe had little to no added sugar and is flavored by the fruit in it! It also had the whole fruit blended in it which provides fiber to help support healthy blood sugar levels. Cherries, watermelon, and limes all are very nutrient dense and contain lots of water to help you stay hydrated during the summer months. This slushy is definitely a great alternative!

What you will need to make this recipe

Watermelon – I definitely recommend using frozen watermelon because it give the slushy a great texture.

Cherries – Make sure to use the dark red sweet cherries in this recipe for optimal flavor!

Limes – You can just use lime juice if you have some already. I believe that adding the zest from a fresh lime just adds a more potent flavor. Plus it makes the drink more enjoyable with a lime slice wedged on top of the glass.

Sparkling water – There a few flavors that will work in this recipe. You can use either cherry, lime, or watermelon! I used the Waterloo brand.

Monk fruit – Adding sweetener is optional and you can enjoy this drink sweetened with just the fruit. If you like things on the sweeter side, try adding monk fruit, maple syrup, or some honey!
