What you will need

GF Brownie Mix – The base of this dip, gluten-free brownie mix gives it that rich, fudgy chocolate flavor we all love. Be sure to choose a brownie mix that is specifically labeled gluten-free and preferably made with nut flours that are safe to east raw. I use the brand Simple Mills.

Dairy Free Cream Cheese – Dairy-free cream cheese adds a smooth, creamy texture and gives the dip a deliciously rich cheesecake-like quality without any dairy.

Dairy Free Yogurt – Unsweetened dairy-free yogurt helps create a light, creamy consistency while adding a subtle tang that balances the sweetness of the chocolate. I recommend using regular unsweetened yogurt rather than Greek-style yogurt, which can be a little too tangy for this recipe. I love using the brand Cocojune.

Maple Syrup – Maple syrup adds natural sweetness and helps bring all the flavors together. It also gives the brownie batter dip a subtle hint of maple that pairs beautifully with the chocolate.

Dairy Free Milk – A splash of dairy-free milk helps thin the dip to your desired consistency, making it extra smooth and easy to scoop. Add it a little at a time until the brownie batter dip reaches the perfect creamy, dippable texture. Any unsweetened dairy-free milk, such as almond, oat, or coconut milk, can work well.

Vanilla Extract – A splash of vanilla extract enhances the chocolate flavor and adds a touch of warmth and sweetness to the dip.

Mini Chocolate Chips – Mini chocolate chips add little bursts of chocolate throughout the dip and make every bite feel extra decadent. Dairy-free mini chocolate chips keep the entire recipe dairy-free.

Parings – Serve this dip with your favorite dippers! Fresh strawberries add a bright, juicy contrast to the rich chocolate, while gluten-free cookies are perfect for an extra indulgent bite. For a sweet-and-salty combination, try pretzels—their crunchy texture and salty flavor are especially delicious with the creamy brownie batter dip.

How to make the brownie batter dip

Combine the cream cheese and yogurt

In a mixing bowl, add the dairy-free cream cheese and yogurt. Using a hand mixer, beat on medium speed for about 1 minute, or until smooth and creamy.

Add the wet ingredients

Add the vanilla extract, maple syrup, and dairy-free milk. Mix for a few seconds, just until everything is well combined.

Mix in the brownie mix

Add the brownie mix and beat for about 1 minute, or until the mixture is smooth and no lumps remain. If using a brownie mix that is made with nut flours, see the notes for food-safety guidance.

Add the chocolate chips

Gently fold in the mini chocolate chips until evenly distributed throughout the dip. Transfer the brownie batter dip to an airtight container and refrigerate for at least 1 hour to chill and allow the flavors to come together.

Serve and enjoy!

When ready to serve, scoop the brownie batter dip into a bowl and pair with fresh strawberries, gluten-free cookies, pretzels, or your favorite dippers.

Food Safety Note: if you’re using a brownie mix that is not made from nut flours such as almond flour or coconut flour, the dry flour in the mix should be treated carefully because raw flour can contain harmful bacteria such as E. coli and Salmonella.

How to Heat Treat Brownie Mix

Heat the brownie mix in the microwave in a microwave safe bowl in 15 second intervals for about 90 seconds total making sure to mix well in between intervals. You can also add the brownie mix to a baking sheet in the oven at 350 F for a few minutes, until it reaches 165 F. Then let it cool to room temperature before adding to the other ingredients.
