Gingerbread Latte

This Gingerbread Latte is such a great way to start your day! It has the perfect amount of spices with a little sweet touch! It consists of healthy fats from coconut milk, and supports gut, joint, and skin health! Definitely don’t skip out on the whip cream on top either! I highly recommend pairing this latte with my Gingerbread Apple Coffee Cake and my Paleo Gingerbread Loaf.

Why you will love the recipe

  • It’s way healthier to make your own lattes at home! This recipes contains no artificial or refined sugars or flavorings in this recipe compared to Starbucks or most coffee shops.
  • It really embodies the traditional gingerbread flavors and pairs well with any gingerbread baked good.
  • It contains protein from collagen which supports hair, skin, nails, guts and joint health.
  • Coffee as long as it’s organic contains many antioxidants which can support overall health.

What you will need

Coffee – I recommend using an organic coffee blend because most coffee that isn’t organic is heavily processed with pesticides and contain micro toxins due to mold exposer unfortunately. A great brand that I use is Lifeboost Coffee because it is alkaline and they test their coffee for all these things.

Full Fat Coconut Milk – I love using the full fat coconut milk because it makes the latte so creamy! I don’t recommend subbing this ingredient with a regular coconut milk.

Collagen – I always have collagen in my lattes to get more protein into my diet! Collagen also provides gut, joint, hair, and skin support! You can always omit this if you are vegan.

Molasses – This is what makes gingerbread taste so unique! Molasses is the by product of cane sugar production, and is the part that is unrefined and contains a lot of minerals.

Coconut Sugar – I love the flavor of coconut sugar in this latte because it is similar to brown sugar. It pairs well with the gingerbread flavor! You can use stevia or monk fruit to sweeten instead if you want a lower sugar option.

Spices – This recipes uses a combination of ginger, cinnamon, and clove.

Vanilla Extract – Adding a hint of vanilla definitely takes this latte up a notch!

Dairy Free Whip Cream – This is optional however, I don’t think you can ever go wrong with adding whip cream!

How to make the gingerbread latte

First, brew your favorite coffee of choice. Then, add the coffee, molasses, spices, vanilla extract, and coconut sugar to a mug. Mix everything together using a hand frother.

Warm up the coconut milk in a small sauce pan on the stove over low medium heat or in a milk frother machine. Make sure the milk to does not boil! Froth up the milk using a hand frother if you heated it up in a pan on the stove.

Pour the milk over your coffee and top with some dairy free whip cream and a sprinkle of cinnamon and enjoy!
