Why you will love this recipe

This recipe is very easy to make and takes less than an hour! It’s so great to have balanced snacks to enjoy throughout the week instead of opting for something that may just cause you to crash later! These chocolate chip cookie dough balls are very nutrient dense due to the main ingredient: raw tahini!

What is Tahini? Tahini is a paste made from ground sesame seeds! It’s used in many types of dishes around the world. This seed butter in rich in antioxidants, contains anti-inflammatory properties, and is high in essential minerals like selenium and calcium!

Trust me when I say tahini and chocolate are a match made in heaven! Many people add it to cookies and other baked goods like brownies because it adds a rich flavor and gooey texture.

What you will need

Raw Tahini – Make sure that you use raw tahini and NOT roasted! It will affect the flavor drastically.

Almond Flour – This is one of my favorite gluten free/grain free flours to use! If you are not able to eat almonds, you could substitute with cassava flour or coconut flour but reduce to half a cup.

Vanilla Protein Powder – Protein is a staple in my diet because it is so important for so many function in the body like repairing cells and tissues, for a healthy metabolism, and regulating hormones. I use a vanilla collagen protein, but you can use a plant based one as well!

Coconut Oil – This is a great healthy fat to add to your diet, and it helps the cookie dough become more firm when chilled.

Maple Syrup – I love using this to sweeten the cookie dough balls, but you can omit if your protein powder is sweet enough.

Chocolate Chips – I use dairy free stevia sweetened chocolate chips, but you can use any chocolate chips you like!

Vanilla Extract – You can never have too much vanilla in cookie dough!

Salt – Just a touch of Himalayan salt balances out the sweetness of this recipe.
