I highly recommend giving this strawberry rose iced matcha latte a try!

Benefits of Matcha

A great coffee alternative

I am one who is sensitive to caffeine so I usually opt for matcha instead of coffee. Matcha contains the amino acid L-Theanine which promotes a calming affect. My energy definitely feels more stabilized during the day when I drink matcha over coffee!

Rich in antioxidants

Matcha is very high in antioxidants especially EGCG. Antioxidants help protect our bodies against free radical damage and also modulate inflammation.

Contains detoxifying properties

Matcha supports the detoxification process in the body because it contains chlorophyll(natural green pigment in plants.) Chlorophyll may help aid the liver in removing toxins and heavy metals. There are so many toxins in our environment these days so incorporating foods high in antioxidants and greens such as chlorophyll can be very benficial.

What you will need for this recipe

  • Rose powder
  • Freeze dried strawberries
  • Honey or maple syrup
  • Filtered water
  • Almond milk
  • Coconut milk
  • Matcha powder(one of my favorite brands is Matcha Nude)
  • Strawberry Jam(or mashed strawberries)
  • Rose petals(This is optianal but makes this latte so pretty! I use these ones Here.)

How to make the strawberry rose iced matcha latte

Add the matcha to a bowl(I like to sift it so it’s s easier to mix with the water.) Pour over the hot water(Make sure the water isn’t at boiling point. Optional temperature is 160-170 degrees) and use either a bamboo whisk or hand frother to mix the matcha.

Add 1-2 tsp honey and whisk a bit more then set aside.

In a small pitcher, add in the coconut milk, 1/2 cup of the almond milk, strawberry powder, and rose powder. Blend until everything is well mixed and there are no clumps. Then set the milk mixture aside.

In a glass, add the strawberry jam or mashed strawberries and pour over the ice.

Add the strawberry rose milk and then pour the matcha over top. Add some dried edible rose petals if desired and enjoy!
