Protein Birthday Cake Dip

Whether it’s your birthday or not you MUST try out this delicious Protein Birthday Cake Dip! I know it can be hard to get enough daily protein sometimes so I always try to come up with easy delicious ways to incorporated more in my diet. I added a vanilla protein powder and some collagen peptides in this recipe for a boost of nutrients and they add to the flavor and texture. This dip is gluten, dairy, and refined sugar free and can be made for any occasion!

Why you will love this recipe

  • It takes 5 minutes to make and you most likely have most of the ingredients at home.
  • It’s made with healthier ingredients that are gluten, dairy, and refined sugar free.
  • It’s packed with protein and some collagen to make this dip more balanced and blood sugar friendly.
  • It’s a fun party dip to make and you can pair it with cookies, fresh fruit, pretzels or just eat it by the spoonful!

What you will need

Unsweetened Dairy Free Yogurt – I prefer to use a plain yogurt to avoid added sugars. You can substitute with a dairy based yogurt if you can eat dairy. Greek yogurt has a higher protein content than other yogurts so this kind would be great!

Vanilla Protein Powder – I love using the plant based vanilla protein powder by Truvani but you can always use your favorite protein brand too.

Collagen Peptides – Combining the protein powder with collagen helps keep the texture from being too chalky and adds protein and hair, ski, and nails support!

Maple Syrup – You can substitute with honey or even monk fruit for a low sugar option.

Vanilla Extract – This adds a good vanilla flavor to the yogurt dip.

Almond Extract – This really gives the dip a nice birthday cake flavor along with the vanilla extract.

Natural Rainbow Sprinkles – I believe sprinkles are essential when it comes to any birthday cake recipe! I use artificial dye free sprinkles as well which is important to avoid harmful dyes.

How to make the protein birthday cake dip

  1. Add all the ingredients to a bowl and whisk together until there are no lumps.
  2. Cover the bowl and place in the fridge to chill for at least 30 minutes.
  3. When ready to enjoy, top with more rainbow sprinkles and pair with fresh fruit, cookies, or pretzels.

Notes: Enjoy the dip within 5 days of making for best taste and texture! The rainbow sprinkles will bleed their color into the yogurt the longer it sets so it might look like a unicorn dips after a while but it doesn’t affect the flavor.
