What you will need
Gluten Free Baking Flour – I personally love using Bob’s Red Mill gluten free 1:1 ratio flour.
Almond Flour – Combining almond flour with the gluten free flour helps with the texture of teh brownies to be moist yet sturdy.
Cocoa Powder – I like to use a mix of black and regular for that deep chocolate flavor!
Almond Butter – This adds to the texture of the brownies and adds to the richness.
Vegan Butter – You can use either vegan butter or regular butter.
Coconut Sugar – This is what we will use to sweeten the brownies with! Coconut sugar doesn’t taste like coconut and has an almost brown sugar like flavor which goes well in the brownies.
Maple Syrup – I like to add a little maple syrup to help with the gooey texture of the brownies.
Vanilla extract – This adds a nice flavor note to the brownies.
Baking Soda – This is what will make the brownies rise when baking.
Fresh Berries – Make sure to use blueberries and strawberries for some patriotic color! We will be making cute star cut outs with strawberries so you will want to find the big juicy ones!
Dairy Free Vanilla Frosting – You can use a store bought one or make your own frosting to top these brownies with!
Sprinkles – If you find some naturally colored festive sprinkles, they make a cute addition to the festive brownies.

How to make the patriotic brownie bites
Make the Brownie Batter
First, whisk together the gluten free flour, almond flour, cocoa powder, coconut sugar, and baking soda in a mixing bowl. Next, add in the creamy almond butter, maple syrup, melted butter, and vanilla extract, and then mix the batter until it’s thick and gooey.
Bake the Brownies
Scoop out the brownie batter and add to 12 lined muffin cups filling them about 3/4 full. Press the center of the brownies down with a spoon to make a dip in the center.(This is so you can fill the top with more frosting.) Bake the brownies for 15 minutes at 350 degrees. Once done baking, set the brownies aside to cool down completely before toping.
Decorate the Brownies
Next, Top the brownies with the frosting by piping it into a cute swirl.(If you buy a store bought one, I recommend whipping it up with a hand mixer to soften the frosting for piping.) Slice some fresh strawberries and use a small star cut out to make cute star shaped strawberries. Top the frosting with the strawberry stars, some blueberries, and festive sprinkles if you’d like!
