Berries & Cream Pops

Summertime is definitely a season for all things berry! I love using berries in many of my recipes because they are high in fiber, lower in sugar, and contain many antioxidants. These berries & cream pops are the perfect healthier frozen treat option to enjoy because they are only sweetened with a little honey and the natural sugar from the berries. I also added some L-glutamine powder in these popsicles for extra gut support! This recipe is something everyone can enjoy this summer.

What you will need

Raspberries – You can use fresh or frozen for this recipe! I personally use thawed out frozen raspberries because that will get you more juices to dye the yogurt a pretty pink color.

Blueberries – This berry is a powerhouse when it comes to antioxidants! The deep blue color is a sign it has anthocyanins which support a healthy immune system and inflammatory response.

Blackberries – This berry is not always the most popular, but it is also nutrient dense and flavorful like the other berries. In this recipe we will blend together the blueberries with the blackberries to get a pretty deep purple color for the popsicles.

Coconut Cream Make sure to use full fat coconut cream from the can! Coconut cream is a great source of healthy fats that will make this treat more satiating.

Plain DF Yogurt – I like to use an unsweetened yogurt to avoid added sugars. My favorite yogurt is by Cocojune.

Honey – I like to add a touch of honey to sweeten the creamy raspberry yogurt. You can also use maple syrup or powdered monk fruit as well.

L-Glutamine Powder – This amino acid is fantastic for supporting the integrity of the lining of the G.I. track. I also like to take it for muscle recovery! The one I’m currently using is by the brand Pure Encapsulations.

How to make the berries & cream pops

  1. Add the blueberries and blackberries to a small food processor or blender. Blend until smooth and then set aside.
  2. In a bowl, add the yogurt, coconut cream, raspberries, and honey. Whisk everything together well.
  3. Then add the L-glutamine powder and mix until well incorporated.
  4. Make the popsicles in the mold by layering the raspberry cream mixture with the blueberry/blackberry mixture.(You can add mashed raspberries too.)
  5. Place the top on the popsicle mold and add the popsicle sticks. Freeze for at least 4 hours.
  6. Once the popsicles have frozen completely, take them out of the mold and enjoy!
